I bought these for use in the backyard to learn a bit about where things are in the skies at night. The optics are clear, focus is precise, and the ergonomics for me are comfortable. I have only used these hand-held so far, but find they are faarly easy to control. I have ordered an adapter to allow use on a standard tripod, and expect these will really do the job nicely on fainter, distant objects. For an inexpensive starter pair these are excellent. Highly recommended.
